  1. The person who came up with this idea to “buy iftar tickets online” should be fired!! No one will use this ridiculous way to buy iftar food while fasting. It’s a true shame on ICOI to change what wasn’t broken to something far worse. Not only will people not buy tickets, but the process itself is something no elderly folks will follow. You failed to think of everyone, you failed to think of your own selves as well. Ppl are hungry, fasting and irritated; the LAST thing they want to deal with is this crap. Keep it SIMPLE!!! You guys will not make a dime and in fact will incur bigger financial loss in the end.

    • Salaam,

Thank you for the message. I am sorry your iftar experience at ICOI has not been pleasant. We are working on improving the system to make it more efficient. In previous years, we had run into many problems with selling tickets manually at iftar time. So, we hoped an online system would be more efficient for the user and ICOI. We are still working on some improvements in the system. If you have time, let’s meet to discuss your concerns and possible improvements.

      Best regards,
      Irfan Lateef

  2. Why u cancelled the daily iftar? Charge more if u have to but why cancel it? It’s like Costco closing in Black Friday because it’s crowded. This is your season to have family in the masjid and to attach kids to the masjid. While waiting on the help desk there was a brother looking for iftar and wants to pay with EBT. Brothers, u missed up big time this year cuz u family wants to come and have iftar at the masjid and there’re people looking for masjid for help. Very sad.

    • Salaam,

Thank you for the comments. For ICOI to have daily iftar, it takes quite a bit more money and volunteer resources. In the past, we have ran into a deficit because of the daily iftar service, which requires more hours of the cleaning crew, office staff and security. However, your comment regarding making the masjid more welcoming is good. Insha’Allah we will do better. Would you be available to talk about this in the next few days. Please email me at irfan@icoi.net.

      Best regards,
      Irfan

  3. I am also having a hard time getting tickets. After I completed every line it asked me about promotion code????all I need is two ticket for tomorrow Friday May 25 please help.

    • Salaam,

Would you be able to come to the office for help. There should not be the need for a promo code. I apologize for the problems.

      Thanks,
      Irfan

  4. Salam
I think this a great idea and it should be continued on. However i did not see a menu and some people like to go for a specific meal and it would be great if that was included.

    • Salaam,

Thank you for the suggestion. The food vendor is included in the Ramadan Booklet, but we will look into including it on the ticketing platform.

      Best regards,
      Irfan

  5. Do you still provide iftar during this ramdan 2018. Please let me know thank you

    • Yes. We provide meals on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

  6. Thanks for improving the process and simplifying the ticket purchase process. It seems much more efficient than in the past.

It seems many are quick to criticize when positive things are being done, perhaps stepping up and helping since this is a volunteer organization might be a more positive use of energy.
